One of the newest crazes in the recreational fishing game is kayak fishing. This is a lot different than the traditional fishing in a row boat with perhaps a single motor and a good buddy out there to enjoy the day with you. The idea of kayak fishing is to combine the beauty of solitude with the serenity of being in a kayak. This is growing in popularity as kayaking as a whole grows as a recreational activity. Kayak fishing isn’t just about fishing for sport; it’s about leveling the playing field by being in a sea kayak and having the opportunity to go where the fish go rather than waiting for them to come over. Kayak fishing is just one of the many ways that the sport has evolved. Fishing has been around for as long as anyone can remember.
In 1496 there was the first essay on fishing. At that time fishing was not a sport of the common man. As a matter of fact, when the essay was first published there were those that feared the common man might get a hold of such a thing and decided it should only be saw by those who were considered gentlemen. However, by the 16th-century the book had become common knowledge and read and reprinted many times. The book was so popular because it had to do with the information on the waters where fishing was possible and also how to construct equipment necessary for fishing. The book also taught about the use of natural baits and artificial ones. This book was not simply a head of it’s day but rather ahead of centuries of fishermen. This book showed the common man how to be an angler and it was with that that fishing became more popular to people.
